Parklands homes offer a range of residential, nursing, personal and palliative care services, either permanently, for holiday breaks, short periods of respite care or to convalesce after a hospital stay. Specialist care is available for those with physical or mental disabilities.
We pride ourselves in sourcing as much fresh local produce as possible. Mealtimes are unhurried and relaxed with residents given plenty of time to eat and enjoy their food. Mealtimes represent an important social occassion and we endeavour to make them as enjoyable as possible. Residents can either have their meal in the dining room or in their own room and in their own time. Tea, coffee and drinks are served regularly throughout the day with a selection of home bakes. Menus are prepared weekly by our head cook with several choices available daily. All meals have been analysed for their nutritional content by a senior dietician from the NHS.
Our residents enjoy a busy programme of fun and stimulating activities, with events to suit all interests. A mini bus is provided for days out to the cinema, nearby visitor attractions, local ceilidhs or for a spot of lunch or shopping. Local musicians, artists, dancers, school children and even therapy pets regularly visit our homes to entertain our residents.
We operate a professional laundry service on a 24hr rotation so that anything requiring to be washed will be available, washed and ironed the next day. Dry cleaning is available on request and is charged directly to the client.
Newspapers and magazines are available and regular visits are made from the local library.
A local hairdresser visits weekly and appointments can be made to see the dentist, chiropodist or optician.
Where possible, residents can retain the services of their own GP. However, if you reside outwith a reasonable geographic area, then a new GP will be allocated. An appointment with your GP can be booked usually within 24 hours.
Religious services are held in most homes on a regular basis. Arrangements can also be made for residents to attend their own local church, wherever possible.
Aberlour Pharmacy is an important part of the Parklands group, providing pharmaceuticals for the company's eight care homes as well as the wider community. The pharmacy is open six days a week (closed on Sunday). A free prescription delivery service is available for residents in Speyside. Parklands has plans to relocate the pharmacy to a new purpose built facility on the High Street.
